Squamates
Because the old Order Squamata, lizards, turns out to be paraphyletic by omission of Order Serpentes, snakes—some lizards are more closely related to snakes than they are to other lizards—and there are no names at the ordinal level proposed for the non-snake lizard clades, orders are not used here.
